Public Health - Health Promotion & Health Improvement Service (NHS Western Isles)
The Public Health Health Promotion & Health Improvement Service has a key role in enabling and empowering people, groups and communities to make informed choices about their lifestyle. Topics include: exercise, diet, alcohol, smoking, mental health, community, drugs, sexual health and workplace.
The Service:
- promotes health in the Western Isles by working with organisations, groups and individuals
- improves health by tackling issues such as poverty, unemployment, poor diet and alcohol and drug misuse
- works with communities and a range of individuals in order to give them the skills and confidence to tackle health issues
- raises awareness and improving the general knowledge of health issues through campaigns, events and training
